The Interstate Box Lacrosse Association is the nation's largest senior box lacrosse league. Formed in 2017, the IBLA is comprised of regional divisions around the country where the winners of each region attend the IBLA Nationals every year. RBLL- MI began play in 2020, with Grand Rapids winning the regional title.
In 2019 the IBLA partnered with the National Lacrosse League to provide an opportunity for players, coaches, and officials to make the jump to the NLL.
The 2021 RBLL- Michigan season includes a new team on the other side of Lake Michigan, the Illinois Doughboys, creating a three team region with the Detroit Hooligans and Grand Rapids Grizzlies. The 2021 begins in June with the season running through the summer. The winner attends the IBLA Nationals.
